Mount Sanitas

I am so lucky to know a couple people who live out here and Lindsay is one of them. She is rad! She was a year behind me in school and is SO much fun to hang with. Lindsay is a transplant from Miami which is a vacation life quite different from our current vacation life. She lives in Denver but works in Boulder so she wanted to show us a cool hike which was her first hike in CO. When I looked up the hike on the internet it showed moderate difficulty. I wasn't sure what that meant until we started the ascent which was a fairly steep grade. People say you can blame your poor fitness on the elevation indefinitely which is what I plan on doing. Seriously though, it was challenging and awesome and I'm so glad I did it. Thanks Linds!

Mount Sanitas!

A bubbling brook.

Colorado you are MINE!

My legs were tired and it was difficult to keep my balance on the rock.

Spectacular views

Devil's Staircase Sr.

The gorgeous summit: 6821'

The descent was a heck of a lot easier than the ascent, cardiovascularly. We decided to take the same route down but it actually looked completely different walking down. My legs were more fatigued on the descent but the momentum definitely assisted.

Beautiful Meadow

After the hike we met up with Lindsay's friends Mary and Nick and had an awesome lunch/dinner with great beer, food and conversation. We ate on the back deck but as we were leaving their deck bar area on the other side of the restaurant was hopping with a band. Boulder seems like an awesome place that I hope to visit often.

Thanks Lindsay for taking us on such an awesome hike. It was challenging but splendid and I can't wait for the next one!

I LOVE Colorado!

btw, Matt laughed at me for 20 minutes because I accidentally wrote bubbling brook instead of babbling book. Oops. I guess we all can't be perfect.
