Home Sweet Home

I love all the traveling we have been doing over the past few weeks but home is definitely where the heart is.  After work and my run Friday, Melanie and I went tasting at D'Vine and cleaned them out of their delicious Fiano. Afterward, she treated me to a great dinner at One Block West. Dinner included, prosciutto wrapped scallops for the first course, sea bass for the main and carrot cake for dessert. The entire meal paired nicely with the Linden Chardonnay we enjoyed.   The service, food and wine were great but the company much better!

Saturday consisted of a busy day at work then Chipotle with Mel and a nap on the couch.  Matt took a his school leader licensure assessment in DC on Saturday and made it home around 9:30pm.  It felt great to sleep-in Sunday morning. It's funny how things change because I would have never considered 9:45am sleeping-in in my former life.  After some breakfast and downtime, Matt and I ran our 6 miles.  It was such a beautiful day and it wasn't too hot due to a nice breeze. Matt and I decided to play Disc Golf at Sherando Park before softball practice.  I had never played and it was pretty fun.  He beat me of course.  We played 9 holes and matt was +1 and I was +4.

Softball practice was fun.  Six of us were able to make it and it was nice to get out there and throw and hit again.  Our first game is next Sunday and I hope we have enough players.

Hoof Hearted

Tomorrow is book club. We read, Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris. Can't wait.

Here are a couple photos from last weekend when Matt and I went to my parent's house.

Beach was hot but the water felt great!

Steph finally got a shot of the hummingbird

Some Amanda time on the hammock

Hope everyone has a great week.
