A Beautiful Saturday

After a great night's sleep Friday night, Matt and I woke up early for our 4 mile run. The weather was perfect, cool with a nice breeze and the run was a wonderful way to start a great day. After the run, we headed to the Arthritis Foundation's Arthritis Walk which was held at Sherando High School. The 3 mile course was a little muddy and I got stuck in the mud at one point but as Meighan said, it was just like going to a spa with a mud bath. It was great getting together with my colleagues in a non-work atmosphere and combining efforts to raise money for a worthy cause. We raised over $44,000 this year which will go towards research for the treatment and cure of the number one cause of disability in America.

Our red skeleton crew shirts are snazzy!

After the walk, Nikki and her friends from college, Cara, Lauren and Lauren's boyfriend Jared and I went to Front Royal for the Virginia Wine and Craft festival.  It was a gorgeous drive out there on 522.  The festival was bigger than I expected and there were tons of people there, drinking and dancing to the great band.  We tasted and tasted, and tasted some more.  The weather could not have been more beautiful and the company was great.

The band was awesome!

They had jello shots made with wine! They were delicious!

We all bought wine at the festival and then enjoyed it later when the girls made a delicious Mexican dinner with homemade corn tortillas. After eating entirely too much we introduced Cara and Lauren to SingStar and we had a great time!

Today, I am dog sitting for the Dansie's new Norwegian Goldens, Succa and Bentley.  I will post photos after I meet them later today.
